LEGION 3D Help

Camera Objects and Properties

Each time you create a Camera, a Camera object is also created and can be seen from other perspectives if you pan or zoom out from its point of view.

Each Camera appears as a skeletal Camera object in the viewing area, like the blue Camera below, which is looking down an escalator. Note that a second Camera object is just visible in the top left-hand corner of the picture.

If you select this Camera object, a visibility ‘cone’ is displayed, which contains the area that the Camera can see. The cone is visible as white lines projected forward from the Camera’s lens.

You can change the angles of this visibility cone by enlarging or decreasing the Camera’s aperture setting.

Warning: Changing a Camera’s aperture may distort the image recorded by the Camera, so keep a record of the original setting.

To change the aperture of a Camera:

  1. Select a Camera in one of the following ways:
    • Click on a Camera object using the cursor in ‘select’ mode.
    • On the ‘Scene view’ tab of the Object Directory, right-click on a Camera’s name and choose Select.
    • Click on the ‘Properties’ tab of the Object Directory.
  2. Enter a new value in the box labelled Aperture (we recommend a figure between 25 and 70).

The size and shape of the Camera’s visibility cone will change accordingly.
